Regional Anesthesia, PLLC is a private anesthesia practice consisting of eleven Anesthesiologists and thirty-one Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.  The primary site for this progressive practice is Durham Regional Hospital, a modern 451 bed hospital located in the heart of the City of Medicine.  In addition, Regional Anesthesia, PLLC provides anesthesia coverage for two additional locations, the Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center (DASC) and the North Carolina Specialty Hospital (NCSH).  DASC is an eight operating room ambulatory surgery center located within one mile of Durham Regional Hospital.  NCSH is a four operating room hospital which is also located within one mile of Durham Regional Hospital. DAA provides over 19,000 anesthesia services per year at DRH, DASC, and NCSH.

Regional Anesthesia, PLLC offers a complete range of perioperative services.  Working as a cohesive team of professionals, we offer personalized care at Durham Regional Hospital with 24 hours a day in-house coverage. Operative anesthesia services include: pediatric, obstetric, gynecologic, general, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, urologic, opthalmologic, plastic, oral facial, and ENT. For these cases, a wide array of techniques including IV sedation, general anesthesia, and regional anesthesia are offered.

Regional Anesthesia, PLLC employs regional blockade techniques of peripheral nerves, major plexuses, and spinal cord when appropriate.  These regional techniques can facilitate earlier discharge from Ambulatory and Post Anesthesia Care Units, which can reduce hospital costs, as well as offer patients superior postoperative pain control.

Additional supportive services include preoperative consultations for all non-emergent cases, vascular access and emergency airway management consultations, intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography, as well as acute and chronic pain management services.

Regional Anesthesia, PLLC's Anesthesia Care Teams consist of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) as primary providers, supervised by the Anesthesiologists. The Anesthesia Care Team has proven to be the most cost effective, safe, and efficient anesthesia delivery system at every step of care.
